Gibson House Museum May Festival
The Food Closet participates in the Gibson House Museum May Festival. A family oriented event sponsored by the Yolo County Historical Museum - Gibson House. Information, silent auction, and a variety of other activities are available at the Festival.
Summer Fundraising Mailing
Each July a letter campaign is sent to local individuals, community businesses and organizations. Summer months are often the busiest for the Woodland Food Closet, however, it is also the slowest for donations both financial and food. The Summer Mailing provides us with a continued source of funds to continue to provide food until the fall fundraising events.
Scouting for Food
Local Boy and Girl Scout Organizations organize and collect food at a community food drive during one weekend in November, which benefits, the Woodland Food Closet, each year.
Daily Democrat "Season of Caring"
Twice during the holiday season The Daily Democrat inserts donation evelopes in all their papers for distribution throughout the community. All donations received come directly to the Woodland Food Closet. This event has been our largest single source of income for the last several years.
Raley's & BelAir Holiday Bag Program
Each holiday season Raley's Corporation sponsors a program which offers a bag of groceries for $10 to be donated to the Food Closet. The bags include meat, starch, vegetables, fruits, and staples. Over the years Raley's has provided thousands of pounds of food to the Woodland Food Closet.
The Woodland Masonic Lodge hosts a pancake breakfast to benefit the Woodland Food Closet.
